Itinerary!

Our Story:

Our story starts in 2018, in the Dominican Republic, where Nirdy and William met on a volunteer dental mission trip while we were in college at different schools!

2018

William graduates from UF, and moves to Virginia, where he promptly contacts that awesome girl he remembers from the DR. Our very first date - painting pictures together at Muse Paint Bar in Woodbridge, VA!December 4, 2020

2020

Nirdy &amp; William become official boyfriend/girlfriend on May 11, 2021, during a fun trip to SeaWorld Orlando!

2021

Exploring a local river near Charlottesville, where William works at UVA in the Petri Infectious Disease lab.

2022

Nirdy starts Dental School at the University of Maryland and we move to Baltimore!

2023

William starts Medical School at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and we get engaged!

2024

We traveled around Europe and also planned our wedding!

2025

We invite our favorite people in the world to celebrate our future together at the beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala!

Flights

We encourage guests to arrive either on Friday (3/20) or Saturday (3/21) at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City (the capital of Guatemala), ideally between the hours of 6 AM through 4 PM. Ground transportation to and from the airport/hotel will be provided by the wedding venue (more info below). Guests can stay for as long as they wish! The earliest ground transport back to the airport would be Monday morning. The Bride/Groom &amp; some guests will be staying until Wednesday to continue enjoying the trip!

Ground Transport

All transportation from La Aurora International Airport to the Hotel and from your Hotel to the Airport will be provided by private transportation free of charge (paid by Bride &amp; Groom), regardless of where you are staying. Shuttles will be departing from La Aurora International Airport from 6 AM through 4 PM on both Friday and Saturday. On Sunday (for late arrivals) shuttles will be departing from 6 AM until 11:30 AM. Shuttles will be departing from the hotels to La Aurora International Airport on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday from 6AM to 4 PM. Let us know your arrival date/time/location when you RSVP on this website so we can arrange a shuttle to pick you up for your 3 hour drive through the Lake Atitlan UNESCO world heritage site!

If available, we encourage guests to book/transfer to a room at Hotel Atitlan for Sunday night &amp; onwards. No matter which hotel you book, all guests will have access to the wedding venue at Atitlan Hotel all day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Wedding Activities!

If you are arriving on Friday or Saturday, we will be having a ton of fun hiking, exploring the gardens, swimming in the pool, and going on boating adventures! Here are some of the fun activities we have planned for our guests on Friday &amp; Saturday!

Indian Nose is one of the most spectacular hikes in Lake Atitlan, the peak of Indian Nose is just over 2200 meters of elevation, enjoy the most stunning sunrise.&nbsp;The Indian Nose, also known as "Nariz del Indio," is a prominent attraction on Lake Atitlán. This scenic viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and its surrounding volcanoes, making it a must-visit spot for visitors seeking awe-inspiring natural beauty.&nbsp;

Hike!

Each of the 3 hotels has their own pool with a BEAUTIFUL view of the lake &amp; mountains!

Swim!

A public boat dock is located right around the corner from Hotel Atitlan, either a 10-15 minute walk or taking a Tuk Tuk (similar to a taxi) through the hotel, for about 5 minutes. From here, you can catch a public boat to nearby villages such as San Pedro , Santa Cruz, San Juan, or San Marcos. The towns are super affordable to travel to and super fun and easy to navigate! Boats typically depart every 30 minutes from around 6:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Please see the front desk upon arrival to arrange a boat tour or other private transportation options to go around town.

The Gardens are a spectacular collection of individual areas, each with its own identity, and they extend from the hotel entrance to the edge of the lake. As the water level of Lake Atitlán has receded, the garden has expanded in a series of terraces and is broadly divided into luscious tropical gardens, formal rose gardens, and an owner’s selection of colours and textures.

The cuisine at Hotel Atitlán Restaurant is a delightful fusion of regional specialties and international dishes. Emphasizing the use of fresh and locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and produce from nearby farms, each bite is a celebration of vibrant flavors. Guests have the option to dine in one of the two stylish indoor dining rooms or enjoy an al fresco experience on the poolside terrace. Whichever setting you choose, you'll be treated to uninterrupted views of the lake and volcanoes, creating an enchanting backdrop for your meal. On Sundays, the restaurant serves a delectable brunch featuring a variety of Guatemalan dishes and handmade tortillas, accompanied by refreshing Mimosas and flavorful Bloody Marys. It's the perfect way to start your day and savor the authentic flavors of the region.

Bar La Cofradia The bar is adjacent to the restaurant, and it is enhanced by huge windows, wood columns, a fireplace, and mahogany with gold leaf side tables.
